Again, Weird Al
Last night we took in a show by Weird Al Yankovich at the Henderson Pavilions. I spent for both tickets just about what it cost me for one of us in Denver about five years ago. Al's on his "Straight Out Of Lynwood" tour.
It was good value for the money. For one thing, I din't realize it, but we had seats in the middle of the fourth row. Al sang a line from a song directly to Tami during his walking around in the audience and camping with the ladies number, which was pretty cool. Also we got dumped with streamers, confetti, and once water, which felt good as the Pavilions does not have climate control. But it's a dry heat. (Truth is it wasn't bad, but I was glad to have a bottle of water with me.)
During Yoda, which you know if you're a fan, Al and the band gave the first performance I've ever seen of the climactic number from the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. That is, outside of the Enchanted Tiki Room. I guess they got the lyrics right. Some are Hawaiian, some are gibberish, but it was fun.
Anyhow, if Al's in your town and you like musical parody, check it out. It's a good time.
